What Color Is The Sun?

Contrary to common perception, the Sun isn’t yellow or orange; it’s actually white.

It appears yellow or reddish at sunrise and sunset due to Rayleigh scattering, where shorter blue light wavelengths scatter more than red, making the Sun look redder.

When viewed from space or at high altitudes, the Sun emits light across the spectrum, appearing white to our eyes due to the mix of all colors.
